Combining live action and stop motion animation, this film tells the magical story of nine-year-old Cleo, an eccentric self proclaimed space adventurer, who takes it upon herself to outdo modern medicine after an accident lands her best friend Anouk in hospital, broken and shocked. The world can be a tough place; sometimes you need to escape it entirely. This is the adventure of two young girls as they travel from one galaxy to the next in their homemade washing machine box spaceship, attending alien discotheques and zoos, and descending volcanoes in search of secret medicinal berries. This age-old story of bonding through space travel is a mixture of out-of-this-world whimsy and real life drama.
